LUV-A is a work formed by a set of images and audiovisuals that show the projection of the same reality through two perceptual situations. The first situation occurs through the human view and perceptible white light, and the second through the camera and ultraviolet light of low wavelength.
Through this type of light and work with the different parameters of the camera, the artist proposes a reinterpretation of different immaterial features of our daily life that are invaluable due to the cognitive capacity of the human being.
As happens in contemporary artistic practices, the public is invited to reflect on philosophical and social issues using other disciplines to create images that assume a metaphorical function. Thus, Jorge Isla appropriates scientific advances related to knowledge about short wave ultraviolet radiation, whose physical range is between 280 nm (2.8x10-7 m) and 100 nm (1x10-7 m), for questioning various aspects assumed by anthropocentrism.
LUV-A reminds us that reality, as the human being knows it, represents only a tiny part of the world around us.
