Professor Antonino Ivano Rapisarda visited us on the 4th and 5th of March to give two seminars at the Faculty of Physics.

He teaches Contactology at the University of Palermo (UNIPA) in the Optometry Department. The collaboration took place in the context of the Forthem Group, as both UNIPA and UV are members of this group.

The first was for students of the Master in Optometry and Vision Sciences, entitled "Ortho-K Lens: Empirical / Systemised Fitting Systems vs Fitting with Design Software". It explained the differences in the fitting process between Ortho-K lenses from the test box and lenses designed by software based on each patient's data, and emphasised the management of nocturnal aberrations.

The second seminar, for 3rd and 4th year students in the Faculty of Optics and Optometry, was entitled: "Contact lens design from soft lenses to miniscleral lenses". It focused on lens design in general, from customised soft lenses to miniscleral lenses and their clinical application.

In both seminars the students showed interest and asked interesting questions of the lecturer, which allowed them to go deeper into the subject.
