Toni Font, professor at the departament of Astronomy and Astrophysics, has been selected by a committee of experts in science and outreach, as one of the best 13 Spanish scientists of the year.

Professor Font has been chosen, together with Alicia Sintes (Universitat de les Illes Balears), for his work in the field of Gravitational Waves  and his partipation in the LIGO-Virgo collaboration.

In this interview, Toni Font explains some aspects of his work, and the emotion he felt after the first detections of these elusive waves, which open a new window to the exploration of the Universe.

Among the other selected scientists, there are also experts on immunotherapy against cancer and new topologic materials.
