The double degree in Law and International Relations offers an interdisciplinary, plural and cross-cutting education that combines solid legal knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of how the international system functions and of the complex network of factors that shape the major challenges and debates in the field of international politics.
The programme includes theoretical knowledge of legislation and methodological tools for its interpretation and application, together with the development of essential skills in the use of legal sources, oral and written communication, and legal argumentation. At the same time, it provides the tools for a rigorous approach to the study and analysis of international relations and to the interpretation of political, economic, legal and social events in today’s world.
The curriculum is designed from an interdisciplinary perspective and integrates subjects related to foreign relations, international economics and finance, law, geography, history, journalism and communication, sociology and politics, among others.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be prepared to act as analysts and observers of the international landscape, with the ability to influence decision-making in both the public and private sectors and to interpret new international scenarios for companies, institutions and public opinion. They may pursue professional careers in fields as diverse as diplomacy, public administration, NGOs, specialised consultancy, media, finance and economics, international trade and logistics, security, intelligence and defence, as well as teaching and research.
As the University of Valencia will not offer the Degree in International Relations in the 2026-2027 academic year, students who withdraw from the Double Degree in Law and International Relations must continue in the Degree in Law.
To access this programme, a certified B1 level of English is required prior to pre-enrolment, although a B2 level is recommended in order to make better use of classes taught in this language.
