Econcult promotes the internationalisation of Valencian dance in the Reverse Mission programme
On Thursday, 16 April 2026, Dr Chuan Li, member of Econcult (Universitat de València), participated in a new edition of the Reverse Mission programme at the Rialto Theatre in Valencia, an initiative aimed at strengthening the international projection of the Valencian dance sector. The programme was organised by the Valencian Association of Dance Companies (AVED), with the support of Danza Valenciana and the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE).
Dr Li’s intervention took place at the opening of the first block and focused on the internationalisation of Valencian dance, as well as on the lines of collaboration between Econcult and AVED. In addition, synthetic profiles of the participating international programmers were presented, showing a marked interest in contemporary dance, together with hybrid and innovative formats such as dance-theatre, performance and experimental proposals.
The results also reflect a high willingness for international collaboration, especially through co-productions, artistic residencies and shared touring circuits.
In the field of performing arts, Econcult develops applied research in collaboration with cultural agents. The collaboration between Econcult and AVED is structured around three main lines: support for the internationalisation of the dance sector, the development of European projects, and the improvement of the connection between research and professional practice.
