The exhibition 'Fotografia i obra pública. Paisatges de la modernitat: Lucio de la Vall (1815-1874)' arrives at the Civil Engineering School of the UPV (ETSICCP), in the Engineering Week (SICMA) organised by the school.
The exhibition can be defined as a photographic exhibition since a big part of it is made up of original photographies of that time, through which we can create a path, not only of the main constructions of Lucio del Valle but also the peculiar creations of Spain during those decades. The history of photography starts in 1839 and was the most adecuate canvas to show the development of science in the 19th century.
Photographers, government institutions and companies honoured progress and modernity with unpublished photographies, with unique photography albums or selected articles, carried out on the occasion of the construction of roads, railways and hidraulic works. After a presentation carried out by its curator Inmaculada Aguilar, the exhibition will be inaugurated on Monday, 9 May 2016 at the hall of the ETSICCP.
