The Demetrio Ribes Chair has incorporated the Mar Greenway (Benicàssim-Orpesa) to its project 'Atlas de las Vías Verdes' ('Atlas of Greenways').

The Mar greenway has an extension of 5.5 km which were part of the primitive railway line between València and Tarragona, inaugurated in 1868. This section allowed train circulation until 2003. Between 2008 and 2009, the Ministerio de Fomento (Ministry of Promotion) and the Generalitat Valenciana transformed this section into a greenway, managed today by the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Public Work and Mobility.

Its inclusion in the Atlas allows visitors to enjoy and leverage the infrastructure. Aside from the inventory and the graphic collection of the most remarkable elements, it also informs of some other patrimonial goods which can be seen from the railway. The project allows social interaction as it opens a direct channel with institutions for sending suggestions and updates.

The Demetrio Ribes Chair is currently preparing the tasks to add in the Atlas of Greenways of Xixarra, in the province of Alicante.
