The work of Pedro Verdejo Gimeno 'La arquitectura de las estaciones intermedias de ferrocarril: la sección "non nata" del Teruel-Alcañiz', was chosen by the committee.

The evaluation committee of the 17^th Demetrio Ribes Award for Research met on 15 October 2021 online to chose the winner of the award. After an intense debate and the recognition of the high quality of this year's papers, they decided to award Pedro Verdejo for his paper La arquitectura de las estaciones intermedias de ferrocarril: la sección "non nata" del Teruel-Alcañiz (The Architecture of Intermediate Railway Stations: the 'non nata' Section of Teruel-Alcañiz).
