The activity has a price of 15 euros for Alumni UV Premium members, 20 euros for the general public and 15 euros for accompanied people under 18. Ticket includes bus transport and nominative insurance for participants.
10 years of the Quijote Reading Club
The Gonzalo Montiel Room of the La Nau Cultural Centre will hold the first meeting of the Quijote Reading Club in Spanish, occasion to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this reading group. Cuando ya no quede nadie, first novel by Esther López Barceló, will be the main theme of the first club of this season next Tuesday 3 October, at its usual time. In addition, the author will attend the meeting.
López Barceló is a writer and cultural communicator. She has contributed as a columnist and literary critic in several media. Graduate in History and specialised in Archaeology, she has volunteered in several exhumations of mass graves. In Cuando ya no quede nadie, the author deploys a writing style and characters through which she dispels the fear of the hardest times of Francoist dictatorship.
Tirant Reading Club: family in Shakespearean form
Following on from the activities to promote reading, a literary session will be organised by the Tirant Reading Club in Catalan on the second Monday every two months. Next session will be held on 16 October at 6 pm, also in the Gonzalo Montiel Room of La Nau. Under the direction of Joan Lloret, you will discover Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell, a novel about William Shakespeare’s ignored family. In this sense, the author offers an insight into the role of women of the time through detailed observation of everyday life.
