Description

The EMLICOVA project focuses on the analysis of multidisciplinary teaching through English in the province of Valencia, within the framework of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) programs. The main objective is to identify the real needs of teachers who deliver content in English in multilingual contexts, with special attention to pedagogical, linguistic, and digital competences.

Using a mixed methodological approach, the project combines interviews, focus groups, and questionnaires addressed to teachers, students, and management teams from public, publicly funded, and private schools. This approach provides a comprehensive view of the challenges and opportunities associated with the implementation of CLIL methodologies, as well as the impact of hybrid and digital environments on teaching practice.

One of the central pillars of the project is the analysis of teachers’ digital competence, which is particularly relevant in light of recent situations that have revealed shortcomings in teachers’ preparation for online teaching. In this regard, the project also explores the potential of emerging technologies—such as virtual reality, gamification, and virtual exchange environments—for teacher training and the improvement of teaching and learning processes.

Based on the results obtained, open educational resources (OER) will be designed and piloted, tailored to the identified needs, with the aim of facilitating the effective integration of content and language in the classroom. These materials will incorporate innovative approaches and promote the development of key competences such as critical thinking, socio-emotional skills, and intercultural competence.

The project also includes a comparative analysis between different types of educational institutions to identify possible inequalities in resources, training, and outcomes. Finally, collaboration between universities, schools, and institutions will be encouraged to ensure the transfer of results and contribute to the improvement of the Valencian plurilingual
