The University of Valencia Registers Its Carbon Footprint with MITECO for the First Time
The Universitat de València has registered its Carbon Footprint for the first time in the Carbon Footprint, Offset and CO₂ Absorption Projects Registry of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO).
This achievement marks a milestone in the institution’s commitment to sustainability and climate action, reinforcing the work carried out in recent years to measure and reduce emissions associated with university activities.
The registration includes the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions derived from the UV’s main energy consumptions, as well as the submission of a Reduction Plan that sets out measures to move toward a more efficient university with a lower environmental impact.
With this step, the Universitat de València joins the group of institutions committed to transparency, continuous improvement, and climate change mitigation, strengthening its role as a benchmark in sustainability and social responsibility.
