The University of Valencia hosted on July 3, at Espai Vives, the international workshop “Green entrepreneurship: Needs and Opportunities in Youth Education & the Virtual Green Entrepreneurship Ecosystem”, a training session of the European project GEFY – Green Entrepreneurship for Youth, co‑funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
The meeting brought together teaching staff, specialists in sustainability, entrepreneurship and digital transformation, as well as participants involved in youth education. The session focused on the connection between education, sustainability, environmental innovation and green entrepreneurship, with the aim of analysing new pedagogical tools to promote sustainable business models among young people.
The opening of the session was dedicated to presenting the Green Entrepreneurship For Youth project, with contributions from José Badia and Pau Sendra. Afterwards, Lola Garzón addressed entrepreneurship education through UVempren; José Badia presented the Greenversity approach applied to sustainability education; Pau Sendra discussed sustainable entrepreneurship and training proposals; and Pilar Serra outlined the educational needs linked to green entrepreneurship.
One of the central moments of the day was the testing of the beta version of the VGEE platform, the Virtual Green Entrepreneurship Ecosystem, led by Ahmet Arik. This digital tool is conceived as a virtual ecosystem to support learning, experimentation and the development of skills related to green entrepreneurship. The session concluded with a collective discussion and closing remarks by José Badia.
The GEFY project aims to respond to the need to strengthen environmental sustainability and eco‑conscious innovation among young people. To this end, it seeks to connect youth education with environmental responsibility and equip new generations with an entrepreneurial mindset, training tools and digital platforms oriented toward the creation of sustainable initiatives.
The activity is part of the Learning, Teaching, Training Activities of Erasmus+ partnerships, conceived as collaborative workspaces between international partners, educators and youth agents. In this case, the session made it possible to review pedagogical methodologies, compare educational needs and evaluate in real time one of the project’s main digital outputs.
