The distinction highlights the UV's good practices in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals and responsible environmental management.
The Universitat de València (UV) has been recognized by the Spanish Rectors’ Conference (CRUE) for its outstanding commitment with environmental sustainability and responsible management of resources. The award was given during the XXXVII Conference of CRUE-Sustainability, held on 29,30 and 31 October at University of Alcalá (UAH).
This award highlights the UV's good practices in sustainability, including the incorporation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into teaching, research and university management, as well as actions aimed at reducing the carbon footprint, promoting sustainable mobility and improving waste management.
According to Pilar Serra, Vice-Principal for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Life at the Universitat de València, this recognition “strengthens the institutional commitment of the Universitat de València to sustainability, a strategic line which is an essential part of our mission as a public university. This achievement reflects the efforts made by the university community and our willingness to continue to be a referent in ecological transition and social responsibility”.
The Universitat de València will continue to develop projects and initiatives that promote a more ecologically minded university, more inclusive and more committed to the future of our planet and people. This will be in cooperation with institutions, administrations and society.
