Description of research activity:
Study on entrepreneurship, creation of companies in general and social companies in particular. Analysis of the concepts of emissary and entrepreneur, their characteristics and implementation of the different theories on entrepreneurship. Implementation of company-creating tools and definition of company business plan. Special impacts on social companies and the concepts of entrepreneurship and social innovation. Study on administration and management of cooperative companies and Social Economy. Its strategic diagnosis, the design of goal systems working towards mission, vision and values, the formulation of corporate and competitive strategies and the implementation of said strategies via organisational design, planning, control and behavioural studies: these are all included. Implementation of Strategic Administration tools in cooperative and other organisations of Social Economy: stakeholders analysis and power-interest matrix, environment analysis, internal analysis through resource auditing and VRIO analysis, analysis for assessment and design of strategies and organisational design variables. Scientific-technical goals:
  • Acquire new knowledge about entrepreneurship, the management of cooperative and social economy enterprises, corporate sustainability, and different models of corporate social responsibility.
  • To help address the real-world challenges faced by start-ups, the management of social and cooperative enterprises, and sustainable and socially responsible businesses.
  • To generate new organizational forms for entrepreneurship, the creation of social enterprises, and corporate sustainability.
  • Training of university students and professionals in entrepreneurship, management of cooperative and social economy enterprises and corporate sustainability, corporate governance, business ethics and ESG criteria.
 
Research lines:
  • Corporate Sustainability, Entrepreneurial Social Responsibility and Business Ethics.Study of corporate sustainability in SMEs and Social Economy companies. Sustainability reports and non-financial reports. Study of different sustainability models such as the Economy for the Common Good and B Corporations. Creation of shared value and Triple Bottom Line.
  • Sustainable Entrepreneurship.Study on entrepreneurship and the creation of enterprises in general, especially social enterprises. Analysis of the entrepreneur concept, its characteristics and application of the different theories of entrepreneurship.
  • Enterprise management of the Social Economy.Study on the administration and management of cooperative enterprises and the social economy. It includes its strategic diagnosis, the design of the system of objectives with the mission, vision and values statements, the formulation of corporate and competitive strategies and their implementation.
