Research on Medieval Spanish Literature:
History, criticism, evolution, social, cultural and political context, literary production, textual transmission and reception. This line of work brings together the research of the members of the group, which covers a large part of the genres and literary modalities of the history and criticism of Medieval Literature. Text editing: critical and digital. Critical edition and transcription of medieval texts and works from the Middle Ages printed in the 16th and 17th centuries. The editions are accompanied by complete introductory studies and exhaustive bodies of notes (some of them have been published in the Editorial Parnaseo Collection of the Universitat de València). The research team has a special interest in digital publishing and, in this respect, not only pioneered electronic publishing in html [http://parnaseo.uv.es/edicionesDigitales.html], but also created a library of electronic books [http://parnaseo.uv.es/AulaMedieval/aM_es/eBooks/index.html] and is currently working on editions with TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) mark up.
Manuscripts and printed matter: physical invoice, text and image. The activities carried out in this line of research take the form of two databases [http://parnaseo.uv.es/Bases.htm]: Valencian printing production in the 16th century and Valencian typobibliography of the 15th and 16th centuries, as well as the celestinian Portal (in preparation) with sections dedicated to the testimonies of La Celestina (and the Celestinesque tradition), the biblioiconographical analysis of the engravings of the old editions of the work and the reception of the Comedia and the Tragicomedia.
Digital Humanities applied to the study and research of Medieval Literature. This research line has as its main objective the electronic portal Parnaseo [http://parnaseo.uv.es/], consolidated project of innovation in Digital Humanities and new technologies: a hub of academic information for research, study and teaching of Spanish Literature, with special attention to Medieval Literature. Parnaseo has four electronic journals, fourteen databases, academic portals, an e-book library, a section of digital editions, an editorial collection and a platform for collaboration between different research groups and projects from Spanish and foreign universities.
Contemporary cultural recreations of the medieval world. Storyca portal development. Contemporary Middle Ages [http://parnaseo.uv.es/AulaMedieval/aM_es/StorycaWeb/], focusing exclusively on the reception and presence of the medieval imaginary in the contemporary arts. The different sections of Storyca aim to offer researchers and students a variety of tools and resources for the study and knowledge of the Middle Ages in today's culture: monographs that deal with the study of the survival and recreation of the Middle Ages in cinema, literature (theatre, poetry and novels), comics, videogames, music, social media, etc.; a database of contemporary novels with a medieval theme (narrative production from the 1990s to the present day), and bibliographic catalogues.
Link between Medieval Spanish Literature and Romance literatures. The research team coordinates the R&D&I platform [http://parnaseo.uv.es/PlataformaIDi/PlataformaIDi.html], created to promote the relationship between the research group with other groups and projects developed in Spanish and foreign universities, to broaden the lines of research and interest of our project with other lines of research both in the field of medieval Castilian literature and in the framework of Romance literatures and, in this way, to broaden the results of the research, its impact and internationalisation. A new way of disseminating knowledge and results as a platform for access and collaboration with other relevant projects in the Romanesque field.

- Avanzar en el conocimiento de la Literatura Española Medieval, a traves del portal Parnaseo, servidor electronico y nudo de informacion con caracter innovador y de experimentacion en el ambito de las nuevas tecnologias aplicadas a la investigacion, conocimiento, estudio, docencia y recepcion de la Literatura Española Medieval para contribuir al avance y recepcion social de nuestra disciplina y, en general, del patrimonio cultural español. Este objetivo se proyecta en la continuacion, renovacion tecnica y ampliacion de contenidos de las distintas secciones, revistas y bases de datos -tanto las que estan consolidadas, como las de nueva creaacion- que se desarrollan en nuestro portal electronico.
- Actualizacion e innovacion de sofware, programas, lenguajes digitales y recursos tecnicos para avanzar en el ambito de las Humanidades Digitales y mantener no solo la calidad de la investigacion, sino la innovacion de nuestro proyecto y el impacto de los resultados del grupo de investigacion. En este sentido estamos trabajando con metabuscadores para las bases de datos y con las propuestas de la web semantica.
- Edicion digital de textos: seguir ampliando nuestra biblioteca de libros electronicos de contenido academico (edicones y estudios), compatibles con todos los sistemas y accesibles desde cualquier dispositivo movil, y poner en red ediciones digitales en lenguaje TEI.
- Consolidar el Portal Storyca y convertirlo en referente para el estudio y divulgacion de las distintas plasmaciones artisticas contemporaneas articuladas en torno al pasado medieval: desde monograficos que reunan trabajos de expertos y catalogos (complementado todo ello con la Base de datos Storyca) que den cuenta del imaginario sobre la Edad Media vertido no solo en la literatura (novela, poesia y teatro), sino tambien en las producciones audiovisuales (cine, musica, videojuegos), generos derivados de las nuevas tecnologias (redes sociales, bitacoras) y en otras formas artisticas y de entretenimiento (comic, juegos de mesa, juegos de rol) que, a pesar de no haber contado con acercamientos criticos, pese a su amplia divulgacion, son los que configuran la representacion popular sobre la Edad Media del siglo XXI.
- En el ambito de la docencia universitaria tanto nacional como internacional, seguir con la labor del portal academico Aul@Medieval [http://parnaseo.uv.es/@Medieval.html], centrado en la innovacion docente de la Literatura Española Medieval en el marco de las Humanidades Digitales y TIC's.
- Coordinacion, organizacion de reuniones cientificas y publicacion en la Coleccion editorial Parnaseo (Universitat de Valencia) [http://parnaseo.uv.es/Editorial.htm] de volumenes monograficos que den cuenta de los resultados de investigacion del equipo de investigacion y recojan tambien las aportaciones de los especialistas relacionados directamente con nuestro proyecto o pertenecientes a grupos de investigacion con los que nuestro grupo ha establecido colaboracion. Y de este modo ampliar las lineas de trabajo, el impacto de los resultados y fortalecer las relaciones con otros proyectos y equipos de investigacion; objetivo, este, que tambien se desarrolla y se potenciara con la Plataforma I+D+i [http://parnaseo.uv.es/PlataformaIDi/PlataformaIDi.html], plataforma de colaboracion entre nuestro grupo de investigacion y otros proyectos y grupos de investigacion. Es uno de nuestro objetivos aumentar las relaciones con otros grupos de investigacion para ampliar las lineas de investigacion e interes de nuestro proyecto y sus resultados, impacto e internacionalizacion.

- Chivalric Literature.Origin, evolution and Hispanic diffusion of the Matter of Brittany. Fictional texts and historical contexts in Hispanic chivalric narrative. Relations between different Romanesque chivalric literatures: Castilian, Catalan, French, Italian, etc.
- Text Editing.Critical edition of medieval texts accompanied by complete studies and devices of notes, with special attention to the digital edition in both TEI and ebook format.
- Origins of the Hispanic printing.Printed literary production and dissemination. Process of transformation from manuscript text to printed copy. The book as a commercial and cultural product: technique, composition, printing workshops, agents involved in the process of production, dissemination, financing and sale. Topo-bibliography.
