Description of research activity:

The research activity developed by this group and led by Dr. Valero is internationally recognised as being a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Fascioliasis and its Mollusc Vectors (Ref. SPA-37) under the WHO (Headquarters, Geneva) and also an FAO - United Nations Reference Centre for Parasitology, under FAO (Headquarters, Rome), in addition to being part of the Collaborative Research Network on Tropical Diseases (RICET) of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness at a national level. The research unit group has more than 30 years of experience in research on vector-borne parasitic diseases, such as fasciolosis and Schistosomiasis, among others, with participation in projects with international, national and regional funding.
