Description of research activity:
The Intellectual and Industrial Property (GIPI) R&D group emerged in 2008 with the intention of giving visibility to the research activity related to intellectual property issues developed by the teaching and research staff at the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia, in addition to bringing together the results of its research, as well as optimising the resources used in the individual organisation of activities such as conferences, seminars, congresses, courses, etc. by each of its members. It is an interdisciplinary group that includes specialists in practically all areas of intellectual property: the main ones, such as patents and utility models, distinctive signs, industrial design, copyright and neighbouring rights related to copyright, as well as matters that also make up the area of legal sciences, such as plant varieties, topographies, semiconductor chips, designations of origin, etc. and others that complement it, such as competition law and unfair competition and other related areas (consumption, personality rights, business). Since its formation, it has been committed to sustainable research that allows all those interested in the topics related to the purpose of our research lines at our University to share information and resources, improving and expanding the scope of the knowledge generated in the field of research and its transfer to society. Furthermore, the synergy produced by its structuring transcends the borders of the University of Valencia itself, participating in a structured manner in public consultations of both national and European institutions and transfer agreements with the public administration as well as with companies and cultural institutions, etc. depending on the area of knowledge required.
