Description of research activity:
The INN4ALL research group focuses on the analysis of innovation processes from a broad and interdisciplinary perspective. Its members mainly address studies on the relationship between science and society, and open innovation, analysing the interactions between actors in the academic field (universities, public research centers) and the socio-economic environment (companies, public administrations, non-profit entities, etc.), with an emphasis on knowledge transfer and exchange (KTE) between the parties. INN4ALL approaches the study of innovation from multiple perspectives, such as the inclusion and participation of society in the creation of scientific knowledge (citizen science), decision-making processes in management (management teams) and the growing relevance of the social and environmental impact of innovation (eco-innovation). The group's research has been funded through national (funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation) and regional (funded by the Regional Government of Valencia) competitive research projects. Scientific-technical goals:
  • To promote the processes of knowledge transfer and exchange between academic and socioeconomic actors, and their impact on innovation.
  • Improve innovation processes in organizations, including open innovation, as well as the social and environmental dimensions.
  • To delve deeper into the role of senior management teams in innovation processes, addressing issues of diversity and gender.
  • Analyzing the phenomenon of citizen science - Citizen participation in the generation of scientific knowledge.
  • Applying diverse approaches to understand innovation and knowledge transfer processes: innovation systems and social networks.
 
Research lines:
  • Knowledge exchange and transfer between academic and socioeconomic actors.Study of individual, organisational and institutional factors related to the involvement of research staff in the generation of socially relevant scientific knowledge and in the processes of knowledge exchange and transfer between academic and socio-economic actors.
  • Open innovation: antecedents and outcomes.Analysis of individual and contextual factors associated with the development of open innovation processes in organisations. Study of the consequences and organisational implications derived from the adoption of open innovation strategies.
  • Top management team diversity and innovation.Study of the strategic management of senior management teams and diversity in their composition (gender, age, etc.), as well as their influence on organisational results and processes (innovation, work-life balance, etc.).
  • Knowledge networks, innovation and creativity.Study of the characteristics of interindividual knowledge networks through social network analysis (SNA) methodologies, as well as their relationship with innovation and creativity.
  • Citizen science processes.Mechanisms, processes and forms of public participation in the generation of scientific knowledge. Governance of citizen science projects. Study of motivations and barriers associated with public participation in citizen science. Evaluation of citizen science projects.
  • Environmental and social sustainability-oriented innovation.Study of the innovation strategies of organisations that include an environmental and social aspect.
  • Universities and regional innovation systems.Research on science-society relationships between agents that cooperate in a territorial innovation system to face great social challenges, considering the social, cultural and historical context.
