Laboratory of Autophagy and Nutrition in Ageing - NutriAging

Reference of the Group:

GIUV2025-629

Description of research activity:

Our research group focuses on analyzing the role of autophagy as a key mediator in different nutritional interventions, such as the Mediterranean diet, fasting, and ketogenic diet, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of treatments targeting chronic and metabolic diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular diseases. By deepening our understanding of how these dietary strategies modulate autophagy, we seek to identify mechanisms that can be leveraged to optimize the response of tumor cells and atherosclerotic plaques to therapies, minimize side effects, and ultimately increase the overall success of both oncological and cardiovascular treatments.
