Development of numerical methods for partial differential equations, numerical simulations, and data analysis. More specifically, the objectives of this research group focus on the development of numerical methods for solving partial differential equations that arise in geophysics and astrophysics. These methods have broad Applications and require simulations to analyze the efficiency and accuracy of the numerical results. In the case of numerical relativity, there is a particular interest not only in solving the equations but also in extracting observables from the simulated data, such as the gravitational radiation of diferent Systems. Some membres of the group are part of the Virgo Collaboration and are regularly involved in science outreach and communication activities. Furthermore, another objective of the group is to analyze the data recorded at these observatories to participate in signal cleaning and the detection of real astrophysical signals, as well as in the characterization of detector noise to mitigate its effect on the analysis of real signals. These tècniques will also be applied to data from other geophysical instruments, such as seismograph data. A wide range of...Development of numerical methods for partial differential equations, numerical simulations, and data analysis.
