The Cultural Centre La Nau of the Universitat de València has organised two round tables as a complement to two of the most interesting exhibitions of this year. The first one will be the next Monday, 25th September, on the occasion of the exhibition ‘La Valencia d’El Flaco’ at 19:00 in the Aula Magna.

The photojournalist José García Poveda, better known as ‘El Flaco’ will attend the round table in which other people will take part: Carmen Alborch, former Senator and professor of the Universitat de València; Vicente Vergara, the former director of Cartelera Turia; Javier de Lucas, full university professor of Legal Philosophy at the Universitat de València; the journalists Carles Gámez and Abelardo Muñoz; and Marisa Gallén, designer of the catalogue. The event will be moderated by the coordinator of Fòrum de Debats, Alfons Cervera.

The exhibition ‘La València d’El Flaco’, which has been visited by almost 13.000 people at the Sala Acadèmia of the building, shows the urban landscape of València from the 1980s to 2004 and it is divided into four seasons: Culture, Politics, Night and City. The display is a tribute to València through the analogical archive of one of the most important photojournalists of the city. The exhibition will finish on 22nd October.

In addition to this, on Monday 2nd October, La Nau will host a round table on the occasion of the exhibition ‘El Saler per al poble, ara! El poder de la ciudadanía en la transformación responsable del paisaje y del territorio’. It is a commemorative and rescindable event about the Devesa del Saler and it commemorates the history ofone of the first citizen’s movements in Spain. The movement succeeded in stopping a residential area that would end up with Devesa de El Saler in the 70s. This display not only aims to remeber that movement but also defends the challenges of this natural park. The round table will contribute to give answers to these challenges in an exhibition that can be visited at La Nau until the following 15th October.
