
‘Mètode’ has incorporated its annual, ‘Mètode Science Studies Journal’, to ‘Scopus’ index. This way, this publication edited by the Universitat de València becomes part of the most prestigious database on research and science contents internationally. Scopus, edited by Elsevier, is a worldwide reference among the scientific community, as it is the biggest directory of summaries and bibliographical references of scientific literature by peer-reviewed, with almost 18,000 titles from 5,000 international publishers.
Scopus reviewers highlight that ‘Mètode’ is not a typical scientific journal, but a publication of communication of science, very attractive and rigorous, and want its insertion in the index to give the journal the recognition and the international scope it deserves.
‘Mètode’ is a quarterly journal dedicated to the dissemination of science and its study. Created in 1992, its intention is to bring closer science to society, encouraging debate and critical reflection on current scientific topics. Ultimately, a journal to think about science, an interaction point among sciences and humanities, with a transversality that permits the participation of artists, philosophers, sociologists, historians, journalists and people of letters. Although, it is a reference journal in Catalan, since its 65 number (2010) the journal is simultaneously published in Spanish. Besides, from 2011 ‘Mètode’ also publishes an annual in English. It is this publication that we can find in Scopus.
Directed since 1999 by Martí Domínguez and edited by the Universitat de València, the journal is open to the participation of all those researchers and professionals who want to publish unpublished articles.
Along its trajectory, the journal has been given several awards. Among the most distinguished we find the Sacyr Prize for Innovation 2014, the Prisma Especial del Jurado 2009, the Crítica Serra d’Or prize 2009 and the Premio Nacional de Periodismo 2007.
