The movie ‘Exploracion de la rodilla’ (‘Knee examination’), directed by Raul Javier Sales Sevilla, technician of the Surgery Department of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Valencia, has been selected as one of the 30 finalist works of the International Biennial of Scientific Cinema of Ronda (BICC) 2014, to which 138 audiovisual works concurred.
This acknowledgement has been given by the Spanish Association of Cinema and Scientific Images (ASECIC), entity that organized the 27th edition of the International Biennial of Scientific Cinema of Ronda, Malaga. “After a significant work of evaluation and valuation of 25 European and American juries selected the 30 finalist audiovisual works that reached the highest punctuation of the 138 registered for the event”, the organization informed.
Raul Javier Sales’ movie, with a script by professor Damian Mifust, will be projected along with the other finalist audiovisual works from 1 September to 28 November in different educational and cultural institution or of I+D+I scientific of Latin America thanks to the support by RedCLARA (www.redclara.net) and its associated and collaborated educational broadband Internet and scientific research in different countries from Latin America.
On 28 November, the award ceremony will take place in Ronda, Malaga, were awards will be given to the movies which have won in five big categories.
“Knee examination”
Raúl Javier Sales Sevilla film explains, in twenty minutes, “how to confront the knee examination” points out. “Is a film directed to the students of Medicine, Nursery and Physiotherapy that deals with different explorations into the knee, more than twenty, to make a diagnosis; and it is made much visualized, with illustrations, subtitles and an appropriated musical theme for a young public”, tells the director.
Before presenting the video tape to the international concourse, the technician of the UV made an evaluation of the work together with the pupils, who counts with a particularity. It is a remaining index which appears into the screen the function of which is to signal at which point of the exploration the TV follower is found. Moreover, this index can be downloaded and pressed facilitating then the following of the film.
For Sales Sevilla, to become part of the thirty selected works into the BICC Ronda 2014 is a “pride”, as it is “a concourse of reference of the scientist cinema at world scale” what situates the UV into the international scientific map.
Raúl J. Sales Sevilla film shares its category with the other two Spanish, produced and realized by TV3 and the UPF, and TVE, and another Brazilian one.
