
The journal ‘CIRIEC-Spain, journal on Public, Social and Cooperative Economy’, has entered the top ten of the first Spanish journals on economics, reaching the third place regarding the impact factor according to IN RECS, the main assessment database of journals in Spanish language. Supported by the University of Valencia, with the help of IUDESCOOP (University Institute on Social and Cooperative Economics), it is the only scientific journal on economics established in the Valencian Community.
CIRIEC-Spain, journal on Public, Social and Cooperative Economy, is directed by the professor at the Faculty of Economics José Luis Monzón, and Rafael Chaves as editor, both researchers from the institute itself. In addition, the journal counts on the participation of the professors José Barea (Autonomous University of Madrid) and Juan Juliá (Universitat Politécnica de València) as associated conductors. The publication has reached the second place in the general ranking 2005-09 http://ec3.ugr.es/in-recs/acumulados/Economia-5agnos-5.htm, among a total of 123 scientific journals.
CIRIEC-Spain, a journal on Public, Social and Cooperative Economy is a quarterly scientific journal on economics, plural, Ibero-American and with interdisciplinary projection. Its field of study is formed by the firms and entities which main purpose is the service of general or social interest, more specifically social economics –mainly made up of cooperatives, labour and mutual companies, foundations and associations-, as well as public economy, prioritizing the social policies of social cohesion and territorial development. The articles are written in Spanish or in English language.
The journal counts on the support of several autonomous and state governments aimed at the promotion of Social Economy. The researchers taking part in this publication include the most prestigious international and national firms, dealing with both the university and labour areas. By assessing research contents, strictness is guarantee. At the present time, this publication has become required reading for researchers, directors and specialists in Social Economy.
