A literary dinner paying tribute to Estellés opens the friends and former students programme for September

Algemesí's Muixeranga.

The association of UV’s friends and former students pays tribute to the Valencian writer Vicent Andrés Estellés when it is twenty years since he passed away. A literary dinner is going to take place in Burjassot, which at the same time is going to open the activities programme of the group for September. Its members will be able to enjoy the Valencian art, heritage, emblematic spaces, and nature, and undertake many trips in autumn.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Valencian writer and journalist’s death, the association of friends and former students of Universitat de València has organized a literary dinner next September 7 in the poet’s town, Burjassot. The actor Vicent Grande and the violinists Miquel Cano and Cristina Llimerà will attend this dinner, which will be the crowning touch of the day. Before, a visit to the town guided by the poet’s lines and going all over the squares, underground corridors and catacombs in the town is scheduled.

On September 8, the association has scheduled a second visit, this time to discover Algemesí’s Muixeranga. Members interested in this visit are able to register from now. People attending this event will enjoy Muixeranga’s dance and visit Museo de la Fiesta with the guidance of its director, Julio Blasco.

By the mid-month, September 15, the group suggests a visit to Museo de Bellas Artes, Jardín del Real or Viveros garden, which are located in Valencia’s city centre. Next day, a trip to Culla will let them visit the Maestrat’s stone houses and, after a walk, they will visit the walled premises in Benassal accompanied by Santi Tormo.

The next activity, on September 22, will take place near Valencia: they will be able to get to know L’Albufera on the Ravatjol, the former public boat linking Catarroja and El Palmar towns.

Finally, on September 30, the association has organized two routs around the most emblematic spaces in Valencia. The first is a walk around El Carme neighbourhood, including Serrans gate, Casa de les Roques, the Islamic wall, and the church with a convent inside.

The second walk will not be less important. It will include Palacio del Embajador Vich, Amodí gate, Lonja de los Canónigos marketplace, and San Martín church. The fine arts expert Enric Català will guide this visit.

Besides these events, the association invites its members to take on trips in autumn thanks to Fil per Randa. All the information is available on fil-per-randa.com
