Antoni Furió, Honourable Member medal of the Union of Spanish University Publishers’ Association

The Union of Spanish University Publishers’ Association (UNE) awarded Antoni Furió the Honourable Member medal. Furió, full professor of Medieval History at the University of Valencia, has been the director of Publicacions de la Universitat (University publications) from 1997 to 2010. The medal was given during the UNE general meeting, celebrated in the Pontifical University of Salamanca.

According to UNE, Antoni Furió achieved the transformation “from what was a meritorious Publication Service, but limited in scope, into a true university publishing association of great prestige, widely recognized”.

PUV is one of the publishers on publishing more books. It is also that has significant presence in bookshops and the media. PUV has prestigious collections of books on every field of knowledge, and it has developed a policy for co-publications with commercial publishers. It also edits culture magazines, both in Spanish and Catalan.

In addition, thanks to the support of Antoni Furió, Librería de la Universitat (University Bookshop) was opened. This is specialized in university books of Spain and Latin America.
