
The Enric Valor Conference Room of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication hosted on Thursday, 22 May, the event of award-giving ceremony of the student who won the V Classical Olympiads and the III Valencian Olympiads. The award consists of a grant for the 2014-4015 course registration in any of the degrees of the University of Valencia.
The winners who already have free registration for other achievements will benefit from a scholarship for books and study material of the degree.
The Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication and the Delegation of Incorporation of the University have organised this year the V Classical Olympiads and the III Valencian Olympiads with the fundamental objective of encouraging the study of classical languages, Valencian and its culture among the young people, of awarding the effort and academic excellence and of serving as a meeting point between high school and college.
In this third edition of the Valencian Olympiads, 154 students of first and second of Bachillerato have participated, from public and private centres of the Valencian Country. The test was held the last 12 April at the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication.
The winners of the Valencian Olympiads are: Cora Bartual Sanbartolomé and Pau Mollà Zaragozà, of Sagrado Corazón (Godella – Valencia); Rubén Chazarra Gil and Gabriel Belkheiri García del Pozo, of the IES Districte Marítim (Valencia); and Jordi Micó Torró and Paula Gramage Sanchis, of the IES l’Estació (Ontinyent - Valencia).
Moreover, it has been held the fifth edition of the Classical Olympiads, in which 116 students of classical languages of first and second of Bachillerato have participated, from public and private centres of the Valencian Country. The test was held the last 12 April, at 11:00, at the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication.
The winners of the Classical Olympiads are: Adriana Caballer Ricart, of the IES La Moreria (Mislata - Valencia); Pablo Campillo Urquijo, of the IES Juan de Garay (Valencia); Alba Botella García, of the IES Abastos (Valencia); Marc Miñana Perucho, of the IES Ausiàs March (Gandia – Valencia); Felipe Lapeña Martínez, of the IES La Marxadella (Torrent – Valencia); and Samuel Cifuentes Arias, of the IES Berenguer Dalmau (Catarroja – Valencia).
The award-giving ceremony was attended by Ramón López Martín. Vice-Principal for Education Policy and Educational Quality; Carles Padilla Carmona, Dean of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication; Jordi Sanchis Llopis, Coordinator of the Classical Olympiads; Ramón Rosselló Ivars, Director of the Department of Catalan of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication of the University of Valencia; and María José Lorente Carchano, delegate to the Incorporation to the University of Valencia.
