Amics i Antics Alumnes de la Universitat de València (Alumni UV) planned around half a dozen cultural activities for February. Forbidden during the Franco dictatorship, the carnival was recovered in Villar del Arzobispo becoming one of the most famous popular festivities of Valencia. The most curious part about this festivity is the figure of the “Chinchoso”, a dummy representing the negative values and burned in the bonfire so the flames purify their bad actions. This trip is organised by the Alumni UV group for the 6 February, guided by Pepe Usach, from Villar.
Is an activity organised in collaboration with the Club de Viatges Fil-per-Randa, as well as the walks around the city, inside the cycle “Valencia, por dentro y por fuera” (Valencia, inside and out), titled “Valencia y Borgia. Un linaje universal” (Valencia and Borgia. A universal lineage), that will go all over the key places to understand the history of the Borgia (day 20), and “Fuentes públicas de Valencia. Al ritmo del agua” (Public fountains of Valencia. At the rhythm of the water), an itinerary around the most emblematic fountains of the capital (day 21).
