Danniel Innerarity presents his book “La política en tiempos de indignación” (Politics in times of indignation) in La Nau

Debate Forum of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture organised on Tuesday the presentation of the Daniel Innerarity last book. He is a full university professor of Political Philosophy and a researcher at the University of the Basque Country. The act will start at 19:00 at the Aula Magna of La Nau. Free entrance until reaching the room capacity.

Danniel Innerarity will participate at the conference “¿La indignación: motor de la política?” (The indignation: engine of the politics?). The debate is programmed on the ocassion of the presentations of his last book “La política en tiempos de indignación” (Politics in times of indignation), Galaxia Gutemberg. In this volume the professor analyses the powerful wave of indignation that has shaken the institutional and political Spanish scenario.  As a political theorist, Innerarity is interested in the proceedings by which this discomfort and critics can be channelled to origin democratic transformations. And he also maintains that in a world without politics the citizenship is the principal harmed. The debate will be presented by the Debate Forum coordinator, the writer and journalist Alfons Cervera, and will count on the participation of Ignacio Aymerich and Jesús García, professors of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón, academic institution co-organising this debate. 

 

On Wednesday 18, it will be celebrated a round table named “La Escuela Pública que queremos” (The public school we want), on the occasion of the book presentation “Escuela pública. Dignidad y compromiso” (Public school. Dignity and compromise), by Mª Ángeles Llorente. Together with the author, the debate will gather on Wednesday evening in La Nau the Valencian Minister of Education, Vicent Marzà and the professor of the Universitat de València Jaume Martinez Bonafé. The act will be presented by Rafael Miralles, correspondent of “Cuadernos de Pedagogía”. 

 

The intense debates week will conclude on Thursday 19 of November with the presentation of the book “El año que vivimos atrevidamente” (The year we lived boldly), by Enrique Yeves, and the projection of the documentary “The Troublemaker”, with the interventions of the author and Ferran Montesa, director of Le Monde Diplomatique. 

 

The book author, the journalist Enrique Yeves, narrates the “political tsunami” occurred during the 2008 summer in the United Nations of New York with the arrival to the presidency of the General Assembly of the ex-minister of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua, the father Miguel d’Escoto, Catholic priest suspended by the Vatican due to his militancy and commitment with the weakest.  The Nicaraguan diplomat was soon entangled in several fronts during the las months of the Bush era, the beginnings of Obama, as the international financial crisis crash, the Israeli invasion of Gaza, the coup d’état in Honduras.
