Ester Alba continues being the Faculty of Geography and History dean at Universitat de València

On Wednesday, Ester Alba was re-elected Faculty of Geography and History dean at Universitat de València. Alba, in charge since 2012, heads the only candidacy and has been voted by 36 members of the committee, and by 4 blank. In the team there are: Nuria Tabanera, María Dolores Pitarch, Francisco Javier Navarro, Juan Francisco Pardo and Miguel Tabuenca.

Ester Alba Pagán received a doctorate in Geography and History by Universitat de València. She also received an extraordinary degree award in 1997, an awards for her academic performance in 1998 and an extraordinary doctorate award in 2005. She works as a professor at the Department of Art History in the Degree in History of Art, at the Master's Degree in Cultural Heritage: Identification, Analysis and Management and at the Master's Degree in History of Art and Visual  Her research line is focused on Spanish contemporary painting, art and museology critic, specifically of the XIX and XX century. Her scientific publications (articles, books and congresses) deal with all of the above, coming from her participation on several research projects from Universitat de València, as well as her research stay at Sorbona, Università Federico II di Napoli, Università degli studi di Palermo, and CSIC Institute for the History of Medicine and Science.  

 

From 2001, she developed a research line focused on the study and value of the Valencian heritage at the framework of projects encouraged by the Faculty of Geography and History. Nowadays, she is the dean of such faculty at Universitat de València.
