The exhibition of Túria nature reserve visits the town of Benaguasil

The exhibition ‘La Universitat de València y sus entornos naturales: el Parque Natural del Túria’ has arrived at Centre de Joventut in the town of Benaguasil, and it will stay there until next November 12. The exhibition was opened by the Vice-Principal for Participation and Territorial Projection Jorge Hermosilla, the mayor of Benaguasil José Joaquín Segarra, and the exhibition’s organizer Ángel Morales.

Before arriving at Benaguasil, the 24 panels making up of exhibition had already been in Paterna, Vilamarxant, Llíria, San Antonio de Benagéber, l’Eliana, Quart de Poblet, Riba-roja de Túria, Burjassot, and Mislata. This travelling exhibition, which celebrates the fiveth anniversary of the declaration of Tùria as nature reserve, aims to bring the local entities in the reserve closer to the university research community.

The exhibition has been organized by Universitat de València through its support unit to the Office of the Vice-Principal. It is a multidiscipline work, were many experts in several fields have taken part. The exhibition covers the most characteristic elements of the reserve: different environments like woods, river, orchards… It also analyzes interesting botanic, animal, or historical values of this space.

The Benaguasil mayor thanked the work the university is carrying to favor dissemination and preservation of this nature reserve which is vital for the metropolitan area of Valencia: ‘Without the university collaboration this initiative could not have been possible. For Benaguasil it is a unique opportunity to find out the big riches we have, and this way to be able to look after it.’

‘The exhibition has been very welcome in all the towns it has been shown, and we think Benaguasil will not be an exception’, the Vice-Principal stressed. ‘The panels on the Tùria, made by experts in the Universitat de València, shows the environmental, cultural, and landscape aspects of these valuable space so close to us.’

The exhibition will be open from Monday to Sunday, 12:00-20:00, from October 15 to November 12 at Centre de Joventut in Benaguasil.
