Exhibitions on the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu at the social sciences and education libraries

Pierre Bourdieu.

In the event of the tenth anniversary of the death of the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, the social sciences library Gregori Maians -proposed by the Departament de Sociologia i Antropologia Social- inaugurate an exhibition which will show the work of this author and other works that some authors made about him. Moreover, the education library María Moliner will host an exhibition on the same author. Both exhibitions can be visited until February the 23th.

Pierre Bourdiew (Denguin, August 1st, 1930; Paris, January 23th, 2002), was an outstanding French sociologist and educator. He was study director at École Pratique des Hautes Études (from 1964) and director of the journal Actes de la recherche en sciences sociales (from 1975). He was also president of the European journal Liber (from 1989) and tenured lecturer of the sociology chair at the Collège de France (from 1985). He published, collaboration with J.C. Passeron, several books on the social inequality, pedagogical and political sociology.
