
In July, the Cinema Club of Universitat de València moves its programming of open air free cinema to the Senate of the Cultural Centre La Nau, but before it says good-bye to the programming of June with two new cycles of cinema: on Monday in the Palau de Cerveró and on Tuesday of the month of June in the Rector Peset Hall Of Residence of Universitat. Both cycles start at 18h and they are in their original version.
The Cinema Club of Universitat de València started its monthly programming on 1st June. At 18h, the conference hall of the Palau of Cerveró will host a new cycle of projections titled “Twins at the cinema”. This month of June, they will project three certificates which take advantage of the dramatic potential of the relations between twins, movies which explore their identity problems, who question themselves for the disparity of characters among those who share genes or who fantasize with alleged telepathic connections among siblings.
On Monday, the cycle “The Other”, Robert Mulligan, 1972), which is a fantasy genre movie and the psychological terror to make a poetic portrayal or macabre of the tortuous childhood of a pair of twin brothers. They will also project “Dead Ringers’ (1988) and “Adaptation” (Spike Jonze, 2002), on 8th and 15th respectively.On the other hand, the Rector Peset Hall of Residence will host a new cycle of projections: “Film noir far from Hollywood”. A selection of four movies that show the particular development of “noir” gender in the cinema filmed at the European continent. This cycle will start on Tuesday, 2nd June, with the projection “Ossessione” (Luchino Visconti, 1943), a neorealist film about a couple of two criminal lovers taken from the novel titled “The Postman Always Rings Twice”, by James M. Cain. There will also be other films projected, such as “Los peces rojos” (1955), on June 9th; “The Criminal”, by Joseph Losey, 1960 on June 16th; and “Le samurái”, Jean-Pierre Melville, 1967 on 23rd June. +Info: www.uv.es/auladecinema
