Historian Manuel Ardit receives this Wednesday a tribute in the Faculty of Geography and History where he taught for years. The event begins at 12:00. The session will present the last number of the magazine ‘Saitabi’, and it will intervene professor Telesforo Hernández and a students’ representative.

The event today begins a series of conferences devoted to consider the work and figure of the historian. Last 19 February, the Faculty Commission unanimously approved the application submitted by the Student Council to name the Conference Room ‘Manuel Ardit Lucas’.

The rural history of the Valencian population, of the lordship, of the Moorish minority, are, among many others, some of the fields where research and reflections of Manuel Ardit have been decisive to the point of promoting a true transformation in the understanding of the Valencian past. His commitment with history was also reflected in an exemplary teaching task, which had the recognition of many groups of former students.
