The Vives Network of Universities has published the “Guia de cursos d’estiu 2014” (Guide of summer courses 2014), which brings together the largest aggregate supply of summer courses in all areas of knowledge, aimed at college students, professionals and anyone interested to expand knowledge. This year's guide includes 622 courses driven by 26 organizational frameworks in 82 locations in the Catalan-speaking territories.
The courses will take place between 15 May and 15 October , with a total of eleven academic areas: arts, humanities, sciences, education, economics, law, social sciences, environment, experimental sciences, health, and other technical studies. In order to facilitate the choice of courses, the site includes a system of advanced search by academic discipline, location where program is carried out, organizational framework, keyword, date of completion and course number, as well as the specific search of the courses with credit recognition . The Guide also offers the possibility of geographical courses looking through a map.
Once again, college students can get academic recognition in a large number of courses. The Vives Network has undertaken a process to make the courses obtain this recognition among all member universities, multilaterally, in order to encourage students's mobility between universities of the Network. On the other hand, it has been convened once again the “DRAC Estiu” programme; a line of support to mobility so as to attend to one of the courses or activities from the Guide.
Since 1995, through the annual publication of the "Guide d'estiu courses', the Vives Network promotes coordination and exchange in the courses carried out by the universities that are part and other entities related to these.
The Vives Network is a non-profit organization that represents and coordinates the joint action of 21 universities of 4 European states in higher education, research and culture. Since 1994, the network provides a platform that leads services for universities and public and private organizations and society, with the aim of contributing to the process of construction and economic and social development of this cross-border university region of the Mediterranean Europe.
