
About two hundred second-year Batxillerat students of Economics and Business Administration high, pursuing their studies in secondary schools in the province of Valencia, will participate tomorrow, Saturday, 23 March, in the local phase of the Spanish Olympiad in Economics. Testing will begin at 10:30 in the Aulari Sud of the Faculty of Economics.
The local phase of the Olympiad in Economics in the province of Valencia is organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Valencia and the Faculty of Business Administration at the Technical University of Valencia, and is sponsored by the Valencia Stock Exchange and Association of Economists of Valencia.
With this competition the organizing faculties intended to stimulate the study of the economy among young people and reward the effort and academic excellence. The tests consist of resolving three types of exercises: conceptual questions, numerical tests and reviews of a text on current economics.
The ten best scores will be awarded free tuition for the first year of any of the degrees offered in the Faculty of Economics of the University of Valencia and the Faculty of Business Administration at the Technical University of Valencia. In addition, the top six ranked in the local phase will then compete in the finals of the Fifth Edition of the Spanish Olympiad in Economics, representing students from Valencia, to be held in June at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University Rovira i Virgili in Reus.
