Twenty years ago was born in Sagunto the Theatre Company Hongaresa de Teatre, by the actor, director and playwright Paco Zarzoso, the actress, playwright and director Lola López and the playwright Lluïsa Cunillé. On the occasion of this anniversary, La Nau Cultural Centre of the Universitat de València holds on Tuesday and Wednesday two shows of the company and a photographic exhibition by Jordi Pla illustrating the history of this company, which is a reference within the contemporary theatre.

On Tuesday, 12 January, at 19:30, will take place in the Sala Matilde Salvador of La Nau the dramatized reading of “La piedra de la locura” (The stone of craziness), by Paco Zarzoso, followed by a colloquium with the company. On Wednesday, 13 January, will be represented the play “Aquel aire infinito” (That infinite air), by Lluïsa Cunillé, and directed by Paco Zarzoso. Like the day before, after the representation there will be a debate with the company.

During these two days, in the Sala Oberta of La Nau, you can visit the exhibition “La Hongaresa a través de la mirada de Jordi Pla” (The Hongaresa through the eyes of Jordi Pla). As a Valencian photographer specialised in dance, theatre and social photography, Pla was the main responsible of immortalising with images the biggest part of the Valencian theatre productions.  There is no thing he can’t see. And thanks to his capacity of “seeing” he manages to extract the essence of the shows. The work of Jordi Pla could be a whole map about the contemporary theatre scene.

He worked with Albena Produccions, Pavana Espectacles, Teatre Escalante, Ananda Dansa, Moma Teatre, Vianants Dansa, L’Horta Teatre, Jácara Teatre, Bambalina Titelles, Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana, Teatre Micalet, Focus (Barcelona), Teatro Olimpia, Mar Gómez Cia. de Dansa (Barcelona), Teatro El Musical, Off Teatre, etc.

Since 2007 he also works with social photography, where he collaborated with the ONG Payasospital and since 2009 with the Asociación Fontilles, with whom he made photographic reports and documentaries “Detrás de la piel” (2009) (Behind the skin), a documentary about the 100 years of history of Fontilles; “Cuestión de confianza” (2010) (A matter of trust), a documentary about the microcredit project for those affected by leprosy in Brasil and “La dignidad y la azada” (2010) (The dignity and the hoe), a photographic report about the African women in rehabilitation after armed conflicts, among others.
