The International Campus of Excellence VLC/CAMPUS and Andalucía-TECH will establish an international center in Berkeley

The rectors of the University of Valencia , Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, Seville University and the University of Málaga, together with the coordinator of the Higher Council for Scientific Research ( CSIC) in Valencia , signed today at the rectory of U.S. a memorandum of understanding (MOU or in English memorandum of Understanding) with the University of Berkeley, for the establishment of an international center in California.

This center , while making a strong and stable connection to the UCB , is also the first link in Spain between two campuses of excellence for conducting networking activities . Is expected to be operational physical headquarters during 2014 and the next year the first exchange of students and researchers to occur.

Specifically , the agreement provides both center management as the framework of mobility programs and joint programs to be held between the two campuses of excellence and UCB. The four signatories of this agreement together universities over 160,000 undergraduate and graduate students and 10,000 researchers.

Develop activities include seminars , workshops and summer schools , which will be of great importance to the strengthening of research , knowledge transfer and internationalization . Also, given its strategic location in Silicon Valley, will play a key role in the internationalization of the spin -off born in the university environment .

This project is funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports in the framework of the Campus of International Excellence.
