
The Botanic Garden of the University of València organises, starting this weekend, its jazz cycle, which this year is titled 'The Ages of Jazz'. The inititative is carried out in collaboration with the music collective Sedajazz. Performing this Saturday is Josep Hernández Reillo, Francisco Blanco 'Latino' and Teresa Núñez. Sunday is the turn for Jazz Petit, with the musical 'The Musicians from Carcaixent'
Tickets for the two concerts are already available for sale. They can be purchased for 4 euros at the ticket office of the Botanic Garden at its usual opening hours, Monday through Sunday. The cycle of concerts and all information can be accessed on www.uv.es/jardibotanic
Josep Hernández Reillo, Francisco Blanco 'Latino' and Teresa Núñez will at the Estufa Fría with the concert Jazzenjant with babies. An interactive concert for children up to four years and their accompanying adults, where they will approach, throgh games and experimentation, the different musical rhythms such as jazz, swing, reggae, salsa or bossa nova.
On Sunday 26 May, the concert Jazz Petit presents us with a musical titled 'The Musicians from Carcaixent'. Shall we remember the Bremen musicans' story? What if we transfer the story to Carcaixent and we find a group of adventurers who speak Valencian and Spanish and who are a reflection of our own identity and cultural diversity? A musical spectacle for all ages, where the basic elements of modern music will be explained, including rhythm, harmony and melody, each one associated with an animal and an instrument.
On 8 June, the concert Aprender Jazz, with the Sedajazz Band is an opportunity to participate in a didactic performance where we become the students, whichever our age, and we approach the extensive history fo Jazz through its voice, music and images to submerge in a time tunnel. The objective? To teach in an amusing way and to let the public observe and understand the evolution of Jazz through styles as diffferent as gospel, blues, swing or be bop, among others.
With regard to the rest of concerts, in the second semester, from September to December we find other concerts dedicated to the 30s, with Barretjazz Ensemble, the 50s, with West Coast Quintet, and the most innovative Jazz with Breaking Brass. Concluding will be the concert from the Big Bang of Taller Sedajazz. Given that the Big Bang is the maximum expression of Jazz, and where we can appreciate as a whole the different elements which bring it life. It is made up of 18 musicians with the same purpose, to offer special sessions so that jazz lovers enjoy it and those who are not yet jazz lovers, become one.
The concerts are in the Auditorium Joan Plaza of the Botanic Garden at 19:30 (c/Beato Gaspar de Bono s/n). Except children's concerts: the one on 25 May will be at the Estufa Fría of the Botanic Garden at 11:00 and the one on 26 May will be at the Auditorium at 12:00
