
‘The future of Catalonia (and the left)’ is the title of the conference that Josep Ramoneda will give in Valencia, tomorrow Wednesday, 12 November, invited by the University of Valencia Debate Forum and Valencians pel Canvi. The event will start at 19:30 in the Aula Magna (main lecture hall) of La Nau Cultural Centre (Universitat Street, 2).
Josep Ramoneda (1949) is a journalist, philosopher and writer (both in Catalan and Spanish). He has been the director of Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (Barcelona Contemporary Culture Centre) from 1989 to 2011.
Degree in Philosophy from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, he worked as a professor of Contemporary Philosophy in the same university between 1975 and 1990. He was also noteworthy member of Col·legi de Filosofia barcelonés (Barcelona Philosophy College), that modernized the Catalan philosophical thoughts during the Spanish democratic transition. He has prefaced books of Michel Foucault, Locke, Montesquieu and Nietzsche.
He is a columnist and comentator in different media. He has published different books, the latest, La izquierda necesaria.
