The journal ‘Pasajes’ analyzes the Arab Spring in its autumn edition

Issue 39 of the journal 'Pasajes'.

The new issue of the journal ‘Pasajes’, number 39 of the autumn edition, analyzes the most important issues of the Arab revolts in its dossier . These riots have led to the fall of dictatorial regimes and the opening of a new political cycle in North Africa and Middle East, a process still open and which presents lights and shades, hopeful aspects and worrying situations. The dossier has been coordinated by the Professor of the University of Valencia, Awatef Ketiti.

The editorial, Les primaveres àrabs i el significant de la democràcia, is based on this issue. Awatef Ketiti writes about the Arab revolts and Islam; Amin Mahfoud about the concept of Arab Spring; Sadok Hammami about the role of websites and social networks in the Arab world; Josefina Bueno about women in the Arab revolts; Yahia Belaskri about the hope of democracy and the enhancement that has meant this process; and finally Lola Bañon writes about Salafist and Muslim Brotherhood, that is, about the threat of Political Islamism, which has seized power in several countries.

Pasajes 39 also publishes articles about other topics. As for example, the articles of Brian Mc Guinness about the intellectual project of Ludwig Wittgenstein, Enzo Traverso writes on Marx, history and historians and Maria Verchili on futurism and fascism.

A discussion on the book El orden de El Capital, brings together the philosophers Luis Alegre, Carlos Fernández Liria, Eduardo Maura and Jacobo Muñoz. Finally, this edition of the journal Pasajes includes book reviews by Josep Martínez Bisbal, Héctor Vizcaíno and Pedro Ruiz Torres.
