
The historic building of La Nau hosts tomorrow Friday 3 March the cultural meeting among Terres dels Alforins and the Universitat de València. The subject of this 5th edition will deal with landscape, tourism and innovation. Apart from a conference and a round table, this meeting will also include a sample of the cultural heritage related to Terres dels Alforins through the cellars and gastronomy.
The new meeting of the Valencian wine production gathers the Universitat de València and the ‘Associació Terres dels Alforins, paisatge de vins’. This association groups together Antonio Arráez, Bodegas Enguera, Casa Los Frailes, Celler del Roure, Clos Corví, Clos de la Vall, Daniel Belda, Heretat de Taverners, Los Pinos, Rafa Cambra, Torrevellisca and Vinos de La Viña. The session, which in this edition is entitled ‘Terres dels Alforins: landscape, tourism and innovation in Universitat de València,’ has been organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation and the Association Terres dels Alforins. The Provincial Council and the Valencian Bureau of Tourism of the Valencian Government have also participated on this occasion.
The inauguration of the meeting is expected to be held in the Aula Magna at 17:00. The Principal of the Universitat de València, Esteban Morcillo, will inaugurate the meeting together with the President of the Provincial Council, Jorge Rodríguez; the autonomous secretary of the Valencian Bureau of Tourism, Francesc Colomer; the president of the association of viticulturists and producers of Terres dels Alforins, Rafael Cambra and the vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, Jorge Hermosilla.
Francisco Higón, professor of the Department of Applied Economics of the Universitat de València and expert in the wine economics, will give a conference presentation entitled ‘The experience of Terres dels Alfonsins. Landscape and Tourism.’ Then, the vice-principal Hermosilla will moderate a round table composed of some cellar owners from Fontanars dels Alforins, Moixent and la Font de la Figuera: Daniel Belda, Rafael Cambra, Pablo Calatayud and Rosendo Biosca will take part in this round table entitled ‘ Terres dels Alforins: beyond of a business experience’.
The meeting will end at the claustrum of La Nau with a wine tasting from the cellars that form the association of viticulturists and producers as well as a local gastronomy tasting from Terres dels Alforins. It will also be there ‘La Bastida de Les Alcusses, poblat ibèric.’ The Sociedad Musical La Constancia de Moixent will make this cultural schedule more pleasant. In addition to this, the participants will enjoy the theatre piece ‘La proximidad del vino,’ performed by Escena Erasmus and La Colectiva Imaginaria.
It is a free access initiative for the general public. However, in order not to surpass the maximum capacity it will be necessary the prior registration to access to the conference and the round table. This initiative has been possible thanks to the collaboration between the collective ‘Terres dels Alforins, paisatge de vins’ and the Universitat de València. This common work started in 2012 thanks to the agreement signed in order to strengthen the alliance among local councils, cellar businesses and the UV.
