The UV’s European theatre project called Escena Erasmus is performing again at the cultural centre La Nau. It is coming with its play ‘Lorca, Calderón y los estudiantes de Babel’, directed by Antoni Tordera. This play, produced by Acción Cultural Española –AC/E–, has won the programme ‘Las Huellas de la Barraca’ for the third year in a row and is being staged from 29 to 31 October. Entrance is free but invitation is required. Tickets must be collected within two hours before the performance at the reception.
Escena Erasmus is an example of the European spirit’s presence. It is worth recalling that the theatre company Escena Erasmus won the Carlo Magno de la Juventud prize that was awarded by the European Parliament in 2011. With this play, it has already been to more than 40 towns in all the Spanish geography and have taken part of important contest like Festival de Teatro Clásico de Almagro, Festival de Olite, and Festival Clásicos in Alcalá. More than 10,000 people have already attended its performances.
Escena Erasmus is coming back to take part now in the activities of the UV’s welcome week –Setmana de Benvinguda. It is being performed until today, 31 October, at 19:30 in La Nau’s Sala Matilde Salvador. All the European consuls and the diplomatic service in Valencia, among other people, have been invited to the revival on October 29.
More than 200 Erasmus students in the casting process
Escena Erasmus beggins this academic year with a new casting process to be held next week. More than 200 Erasmus students from different countries like Germany, United Kingdom, Romania, or Greece, have pre-registered to get a place as actors. Only twenty will succeed.
New this year, Escena Erasmus will organize a series of single-themed workshops on different artistic disciplines to work with the great European potential which these scholarships represent.
