Beginning Monday, February 25th, the Historical Library of the University of Valencia has a new space: the Thesaurus room, on the first floor of the Cultural Centre La Nau. The Thesaurus room provides space for group work and computers for electronic library resources and has tables for people who need to use wheelchairs. This new space, which housed exhibitions before, has a total of 42 work places, of which 18 are for group work, and 24 for individual work.

Currently 12 computers allow for Internet connection. The use of these computers is restricted to the university community, which needs to be identified by username and password. The room is open to the public today, Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 20:30, and Saturday from 9:30 to 13:30.

For Victoria Garcia Esteve, director of Library and Documentation Service of the University of Valencia, this new room "aims to help students of the University of Valencia prepare their papers, as it combines the use of electronic resources with space for group work, as required in the new curriculum. " Currently, the libraries of the University of Valencia offer over 4,600 work spaces, most of which are for individual work. The new room is designed for teamwork. The libraries of the University of Valencia received more than 3,500,000 visits last year.
