The Charles Darwin Hall (Burjassot Campus) hosts the end of year audition of the Choir School La Nau of the UV on Saturday 7 June at 12:00, whose members will act under the direction of Monica Perales, Eduard Marquina playing the piano and Jaume Torres on percussion.
The program is divided into different parts according to the choirs that form the Choir School. The first performance will be children aged 4 to 6 and grouped in the Choir Mestral; the next one will be the Choir Garbi formed by children aged 6 to 9 years; the Choir Tramuntana, formed by 10 year old children; and the last one will be the Choir Xaloc, formed by 16 year old teenagers.
The Choir School (Ecuela Coral) La Nau of the UV began its activity in October 2002. Especially aimed at children, the Choir School was born under the direction of Monica Perales, in order to encourage the children's musical training within the University, since singing is regarded as the basic element to structure good musical education, as well as an excellent means of voluntary expression and an important part of human training.
The Choir School regularly practices in the Colegio Mayor Rector Peset, which has been scene of many of their concerts, but the Choir has also performed in other academic areas, such as the auditorium Joan Plaça of the Botanic Garden; La Capella de la Sapiència of the Nau or Charles Darwin Hall of Burjassot Campus, plus scenarios non-related to the University, such as the Auditorium TAMA in Aldaia; the Roman Theatre in Sagunto; El Palau de la Música in Valencia or El Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofia, for instance.
Besides his artistic goal, the Choir School La Nau has a social purpose: to promote the active participation in the University of both sons and daughters of the PAS, the PDI and related groups such as the Amics i Antics Alumnes (Friends and Former students of the UV) and the general public, in order to disseminate the creative side and promoter of culture of the UV.

The period to register for the course Choir School for 2014/2015 will be open on 17 June .
