Mètode magazine has organised this Tuesday, 30 April, a panel discussion titled 'Women and Science', on the occasion of the presentation of the issue of the magazine devoted to the same subject. The debate will be held at the Institute of the History of Medicine and Science López Piñero, based at the Palau de Cervero, moderated by Marti Dominguez, director of publication.
The disucssion was attended by the Professor of History of Science Josep Lluís Barona, who has coordinated the issue of the magazine, and teachers Monica Bolufer and Empar Aguado. All three have offered an overview of the status of women in the scientific and academic world. In addition, during the debate copies of this latest issue were handed out among attendees.
The woman has been incorporated into the public arena and workplace in recent decades, cementing their place in the universities and research centres. However, as pointed out by the latest issue of Mètode magazine, there is still a long way to go before true equality.
With this panel discussion on the occasion of the presentation of the number 'Dones i ciència: Les claus of igualtat' Mètode magazine begins a cycle of presentations at the Institute of the History of Medicine and Science López Piñero in order to open the debate and reflection on society around issues that occupy its monographs.
