
The vice president of the Valencian Government, Mónica Oltra, presents on Thursday 2 June, at La Nau of the Universitat de València, a talk by Javier Pérez Royo about the constitutional reform in Spain. Pérez Royo is full university professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Seville. The talk will start at 19 hours at the Aula Magna and the admission is free.
The event is organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture of the Universitat, the Valencian Department of Transparency and the Fòrum Ètica Pública i Democràcia (Public Ethics and Democracy Forum). The meeting will be broadcasted live at http://mediauni/uv.es/VCultura
Javier Pérez Royo is doctor by the University of Seville, and he has made supplementary studies at the universities of Tübingen and Minnesota and at the Max Planck Institute. Between 1988 and 1992 he was Principal at the University of Seville and president of the Conference of Principals of Spanish Universities (CRUE).
He was a member of the Drafting Committee of the Statute of Autonomy of Andalusia and he took part in the composition of the Catalonia Statute of 2006. He participates regularly at the newspapers of ‘El País’ and ‘El Períodico de Cataluña’; and at Cadena SER.
Pérez Royo is author of several works on Constitutional Law.
He was awarded with the Blanquerna prize of the Catalonia Government in 2007 and the golden medals of the Regional Government of Andalusia and of the Parliament of Andalusia.
