
The exhibitions organised by the Office of the vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation continue its itinerary around the Valencian towns. On Tuesday 12, ‘Deporte tradicional valenciano y territorio’ (‘Valencian Traditional Sport and Territory’) is inaugurated in Montserrat; on Wednesday 13, ‘Los recursos territoriales valencianos’ (‘The Valencian Territorial Resources’), in Requena; on Thursday 14, the sample about the region of the Ribera del Xúquer, in Almussafes; and on Friday 15, ‘Second Round’ in Manises.
The exhibition ‘Deporte tradicional valenciano y territorio’ opens on Tuesday, 12 April, at the ‘Casa de la Cultura’ in Montserrat (Ribera Alta). The act will be led by vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, Jorge Hermosilla, and the curator of the exhibition, the professor Víctor Agulló (Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology), along with representatives of the Council of Montserrat and Caixa Popular. The exhibition has been promoted by the Universitat de València in collaboration with Caixa Popular and the Sports Area of the Valencian Provincial Council.
The 27 panels that form this exhibition go over the different modalities of Valencian Pilota (‘galotxa’, ‘raspall’, ‘llargues’…) and other autochthonous sports that are part of the Valencian cultural heritage (‘vela latina’, ‘corregudes de joies’, ‘tiro y arrastre’). There are also exhibited traditional Valencian games, as well as popular athletics from the popular race tour, the ‘Vuelta a pie’ (‘Walk’) or the athletics clubs. The Casa de la Cultura of Montserrat will hold the showing until 3 May.
Exhibition ‘Los Recursos Territoriales Valencianos’, en Cullera (Ribera Baixa)
On Wednesday, 13 April, the showing arrives to the Casa de l’Ensenyança in Cullera, formed by more than a hundred maps that represent most of the environmental, human, economic, patrimonial and social resources that are located in the province of València.
This cartographic exhibition that will stay in Cullera until 1 May combines panels with maps, thematic commentaries and audiovisual projections about the 3D Valencian relief. The collection, based on those elements that could potentially be the motor for economic development of the province, has been organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation of the Universitat de València, with the sponsorship and collaboration of the Valencian Provincial Council.
Without any doubt, it is a choral work, a result of the collective effort, in which there have participated over fifty professors of the Universitat de València, summarised by the work of the designer MacDiego and with the collaboration of Paco Roca.
‘La Universitat de València y sus entornos comarcales: La Ribera del Xúquer’, in Almussafes (Ribera Baixa)
The exhibition ‘La Universitat de València y sus entornos comarcales: La Ribera del Xúquer’ (‘The Universitat de València and its regional environments: La Ribera del Xúqer’) opens in Almussafes next Thursday, 14 April. There will attend the inauguration the curators of the showing, Ángel Morales (head of the initiatives from the Office of the Vice-Principal and Department of Analytical Chemistry) and Antonio Ledo (Department of History of Antiquity and Written Culture), along with members of the Council of Almussafes and representatives of Caixa Popular
Through 36 panels, this multidisciplinary exhibition expects to discover to the public in general how the current reality of an emblematic region has been built: La Ribera del Xúquer. In the elaboration have taken part around fifty professor from different knowledge areas of the Universitat de València, research groups, as well as technicians from the public administration and local specialists.
‘Second Round: Arte y lucha en los institutos valencianos’, in Manises (Horta Sud)
The Ausiàs March High School of Manises will receive on Friday, 15 April, the project ‘Second Round: Arte y lucha en los institutos valencianos’ (‘Second Round: Art and struggle at the Valencian High Schools’) with a talk by the curator of the sample, Ricard Huerta (director of the Institute of Educational Creativity and Innovation and of the Department of Musical, Plastic and Body Language Expression Training), focused on the social challenges of the artistic education.
The initiative is organised by the Institute of Educational Creativity and Innovation, in collaboration with the Offices of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, for Training Policies and Educational Quality and for Culture and Equality. It is about a collective project in which the Universitat de València has worked along with some of the high schools with artistic studies. The 21 panels pretend to reveal the important artistic activity that takes place in these centres.
