The National School of Molecular Materials of the Universitat de València is back

Once again, the Universitat de València’s Molecular Science Institute is holding its already traditional National School of Molecular Materials, a meeting of students, young researchers and outstanding scientifics, which is aimed at strengthening knowledge and interest in research in the field of molecular mechanisms and its industrial application, specially the Molecular Electronics, which will be launched from 1st to 6th February.

Postgraduate Physics, Chemistry and Engineering students, young researchers and outstanding scientifics of the Spanish scientific community in the field of Molecular Material and Nanotechnology will meet together in Santa Paola, where the Biongeneering Institute of the Miguel Hernández University, the entity which houses this year the School, has prepared the meeting.

The National School of Molecular Materials (referred to by its Spanish acronym ENMM) has as its main goal to train young researchers in the field of the Molecular Materials and Nanotechnology. It is a space open for knowledge and the exchange of ideas and information among those who work or have some interest in materials with advanced optical, electrical and/or magnetical (whether molecular or polymer) type.

Established in 1992, as the seed that would subsequently be the Institute of Molecular Science at the Universitat de València (referred to by its Spanish acronym ICMol), the ENMM is part of the Interuniversity Master’s degree in Nanoscience and Molecular Nanotechnology, which is co-ordinated by ICMol. “We could say that the National School of Molecular Materials is the core of the research in this field to the state level”, claims Eugenio Coronado, ICMol director and responsable of the Master’s degree. “The School has led to a scientific community which nowadays is a representation of research in Molecular Material to state level”, he concludes.

The ENMM is organised every year by the Institute of Molecular Science together with members of universities involved in the master’s degree. This XVI Edition, put in place together with the Biongeneering Institute of Miguel Hernández University, mentions the tradition of past editions, with the participation of professors and researchers specialised in this field, including some of the most prestigious international scientists working in this field.
