Orquestra Filharmònica of University of Alicante offers in Serenates the second concert within SINERGIA sessions

Orquestra Filharmònica University of Alicante.

Orquestra Filharmònica of University of Alicante, conducted by Mihnea Ignat, is the second one to perform on Serenates, on the occasion of SINERGIA sessions, a project of Universitat de València for the creation of a Spanish network of university orchestras. The concert will take place at Claustrum of La Nau on Wednesday, 1st July, at 22:30h.

The programme that the orchestra of Alicante will perform is divided in two parts. The first one is dedicated to the composer Robert Schumann (1918-1856) and to his “Orchestrated Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129.” This part will have the presence of Fermín Villanueva (cello) as a soloist.

The second part will correspond to the “Symphony Nº 3 ‘Eroic’ in E-flat major, op. 55” by Beethoven (1770-1827), a piece that, initially dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, has been considered as the awakening of the music Romanticism by breaking with the traditional classic symphony.
